Well loved photos make good portraits. A picture that you cherish will be packed with the sort of exciting expression that I work best with. If you have the luxury of a selection of photographs you want a painting done from, choose the one with the most "dramatic" lighting. An individual portrait can take up to 20 hours to complete, usually done over several two hour periods. This is a significant time investment!
